Investing in Justice

Planned Giving and Major Gifts

A number of prominent lawyers and their families have made major gifts to the CBF to support the broader work of the CBF and some significant designated initiatives.
There are several ways that The Chicago Bar Foundation can work in partnership with you to help you pursue your philanthropic goals:
Leave a lasting legacy to your community and help advance the cause of equal access to justice by making a planned gift to the CBF. Join the many supporters who have given back in this unique way by designating the CBF as the recipient of part of your estate in a will or estate plan. Many dedicated individuals have made lasting contributions to the CBF in their will or by naming the CBF as the beneficiary of a charitable trust, life insurance policy or IRA.

By making a major gift of $100,000 or more to the CBF, you have an opportunity for a Chicago Bar Foundation fund to be named in your honor. Your legacy gift can support special CBF grants dedicated to a particular purpose; endow an award, fellowship, or scholarship; or set up a special access to justice fund to address a critical or emerging need in our community. These gifts can be made either during your lifetime or as planned gifts, and the CBF can work with you to identify the most effective way to help you accomplish your charitable goals.
